Jean Canter Stotts West, 86, widow of Eugene M. West, died Sat. July 11, 2015 at Lexington Country Place. Born Dec. 12, 1928 in Jessamine County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Logan and Elizabeth Stotts Canter. Mrs. West was a former secretary for the University of Kentucky Mechanical Engineering Department, was a member of Chevy Chase Baptist Church and had recently attended Twin Pines Christian Church. She loved music, had an outgoing personality never meeting a stranger, and also had an unique gift of remembering birthdays of everyone she knew or met. Survivors include three daughters, Eugenia Beth (Bill Johnson) Pennington, Kimberly Ann (Chris) Marnitz, and Kelley Susan (Kurt) Rose; eight grandchildren, Laura and Andrew (Ashley) Pennington, Joshua, Brooke, and Shelby Marnitz, and Katie, John and Jake Rose; two great grandchildren, Avery Pennington and Noah West Roy; her sister-in-law, Joyce (David) Livingston of Bowling Green, KY; niece, Pam Thurman; nephew, Tim Livingston; and special cousins, Hugh Stotts, Jr., Jane Slugantz, Edna Dale Stotts, Brenda Hager, and Tim Stotts. Burial will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County, Kentucky.
