After her divorce from Charles Hugh Burns, Emma moved into an apartment at the St. Anthony Hotel in San Antonio where she lived comfortably. Her children and grandchildren who lived in San Antonio were frequent visitors.
Her grandson, Jaime Christensen recalls vividly the time that the film "The Alamo" was being shot in San Antonio. Many of the actors stayed at the St. Anthony. Jaime and his cousin, Patrick Burns were excited to meet them and to take little tokens of memorabilia to their friends at TMI. Richard Boone gave Jaime a handful of calling cards for his television show "Have Gun, Will Travel". In his excitement, Jaime gave them all away. When he realized this fact, he returned to ask Mr. Boone for one for himself. He got it.
