Hello Mary West born 1809 is my 3rd Great Grandmother (my Mom's 2nd Great Grandmother). I was never able to locate her and now I know why. She abandoned her family. This is very sad however who knows what the circumstances were? Through my DNA matches I feel strongly that she is the Daughter of Thomas West and Rachel Eubanks. I have DNA matches on both the West/Eubanks sides. I even have a match to a Marquette/Market family member whose Mother was Rachel Eubanks Market (many variations of spelling of "Market"). Rachel Eubanks Market was the Daughter of Thomas Asa Eubanks (1705~1776). I have many Levi/Andrew/Tryphenia Mead matches. I match nearly every family member of Andrew/Tryphenia West. I have combed throught the will of Thomas and he does not mention having a Daughter Mary. He also does not mention Martin as his Son. Perhaps Mary had already passed at that time? I also notice (just as a side note) that Thomas was a "Justice Of The Peace" and his signature is on many family members certificates. My Mom has a Family Tree DNA account as well as myself. I have joined the "West" family DNA project and appreciate any information anyone can give me to figure out this mystery My Mom also matches Henry West (1785~1857) however I can't seem to place him in my existing West portion of my tree?
My Mom is Billie June Frost
Her Father was George Washington Smith (Born 1861). George's Father was Elijah B Smith (died during Civil War/Married Sarah E C Goodnight.
Elijah B Smith's Mother was Mary West and his Father was Jesse L Smith (if you are so inclined to look at my tree).
