JIMMIE JOE WEST
Aug. 31, 1931 ~ Aug. 20, 2009 Was born in Greenville, Texas. He moved with his family to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1944. He completed his schooling at Santa Fe High School with his diploma in 1950. He entered the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict reaching the rank of sgt. He served as a medic until the war's end. Upon his return to Santa Fe he worked in the construction industry which was a family tradition. In 1962 he relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada to continue in construction. In 1997 he retired and joined his brother in Riverside where he worked part-time as an accountant in the golfing business. Golf was his passion and he enjoyed the game in his retirement until his untimely passing due to heart failure. Jimmie is survived by his son, Jimmie Keith of Las Vegas; two grandsons, a brother and sister-in-law, John and Bev West, and many nephews and nieces. Interment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery at 1pm on September 4, 2009, followed by a reception at Indian Hills Golf Club, 5700 Club House Drive, Riverside.
