Mr. David Jerome “Jerry” West age 85 of Hwy 52 E. Ellijay, died Friday August 24,2012.
Mr. West was born December 14,1926 in Chattanooga, TN, the son of the late Albert E. and Willa Mae Blanton West. Mr. West has lived in Ellijay for the past 23 years following his retirement from the electronics business he owned in Atlanta. He is a member of the Oakhill United Methodist Church and a WWII Navy veteran. He is preceded in death by sons David E. West and Douglas N. West and brother John E. West.
Survivors include: Wife: Edna R. West of the home in Ellijay, Sons: Mark W. West, Ellijay; Jeffery West, Ocoee, TN; daughters and son-in-laws, Pamela Ann and Doug Mayer, Marble Hill; Cynthia and Arthur Owen, Savannah; Step-children, Edward Hansen, Atlanta; Katherine and Dr. William Scott, Easley, SC; Laura Frazier, Atlanta; several grandchildren nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services will be held Saturday September 1, 2012 at 2:00pm from the Oakhill United Methodist Church with Rev. Ike Parker, Rev. Edward Ledford and Rev. Jerry Gleason officiating.
Family will meet with friends after the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Piedmont Mountainside Hospital or to Hospice Advantage in memory of Mr. West.
