OCR text: MARIS, Dr. Robert W. Passed away October 29th on his 86th birthday. He resided in Spokane from 1950 to 1985, where he practiced orthopedics and had a long association with Shriners Childrens Hospital as Chief Surgeon. He was married 57 years to wife Norma of Issaquah, WA and was the father of sons Steve, Don, and Neil Maris, who reside in the Seattle area, and daughter Janet Vaughn of Spokane. He was also a member of the El Katif Shrine of Spokane, Masonic Lodge, president of the North Pacific Orthopedic Society (1980-1981), and Professor Emeritus of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Washington. In retirement he enjoyed playing banjo, woodworking, gardening, and outdoor pursuits at the family cabin on Priest Lake, ID. A remembrance reception for friends and family will be held November 10 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Providence Point clubhouse in Issaquah, WA.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Norma Maris, of Issaquah; his sister Jean Maris of Portland, sons Steve (Susan) Maris of Bellevue, Don (Nancy) Maris of Redmond, Neil (Pam) Maris of Sammamish, daughter Janet Vaughn (Cyrus) of Spokane, WA and seven grandchildren; Davis, Matthew, McCall, Lauren, Kristin, Riley, and Nathan.
