Grace Aleck, 100 of Sioux Falls, SD, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Ava's Hospice House. Visitation with the family present will be from 1 to 2 pm with a funeral service at 2 pm on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at the Harrisburg United Methodist Church with burial at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Harrisburg. Grace West, daughter of Harry and Dell (Berry) West, was born on July 30, 1922, in rural Harrisburg, SD. Grace grew up on a farm near Harrisburg and attended country school and graduated from Harrisburg High School in 1940. Grace was united in marriage with Joseph Aleck on March 20, 1943, in Windsor Locks, CT. After Joe was honorably discharged from the service, the couple returned to Harrisburg, SD and began to raise a family. Grace worked in alterations with Crawford's Mens Wear and Norman's and filled in at the post office. Joe passed away on November 12, 2002. Grace was preceded in death by her husband Joe; an infant daughter; and her brothers Elvin and Lyle. - Miller Funeral Home

HARRISBURG
Kenneth "Bud" Larson, O, of Harrisburg, died Thursday, March 7, in McKennan Htspital, Sioux Falls. Mr. Larson was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Harrisburg. He grew up and received his educaticm there. He married Jessie L. West Dec. 6. 1942. in Harrisburg. He entered the Army in March 1943 and served during World War 2. After his discharge, he returned to Harrisburg. He worked as a carpenter and school bus driver for several years before going to work at the Sioux Falls Stockyard. He retired in 1975, after
years of service. Tlhe couple moved LaFeria, Texas, in 1983, and they recently returned to Harrisburg. He was a member the Harrisburg United Methodist Church and American Legion Post No. 439 in LaFeria. He was a former member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife; two sons: Randy of Harrisburg; and Veryl of San Benito, Texas; eight grandchildren; a great-grand- child; his mother, Annabell Larson, Harrisburg; two brothers: Duane of Harrisburg; and Ronald of Pierre; and a sister, Mrs. Obel (Wava) Kleppe, Olivehurst, Calif.
