He was a retired shoe salesman who lived on South Jefferson in Slater and was married. Father: Tom West Mother's maiden name: Marianna Anthony
Memorial page was based on death certificate information with Mrs. Etta West of Slater, Mo. as informant. Certificate said burial at Ridge Park Cemetery, Marshall, Missouri. Note that there were two men by the name of Frank West who died in Marshall, Mo. in 1957 and whose death certificates both said burial at Ridge Park. The other Frank West is listed in Ridge Park archives but this Frank West featured on this page was not listed in the archives.
Michael Kruse contributor no. 46579594, sent an email to point out that the date of birth listed on the death certificate for this Frank West may be in error. Generally these certificates give accurate death dates, but birth dates are dependent on the memory of the informant and can be in error. The death certificate said birth was March 4, 1877. This page has been modified to change year to 1869 per what Kruse said below:
"There is a discrepancy concerning Frank's birth date. The death certificate says he was born Mar. 4, 1877. The 1940 Census also lists his him as 63, born in 1877. However, his father died in 1873. The 1870 Census records from Tom and Marion (Marianna) West show the youngest child as Milton, 1 year old, born c. 1869. The 1880 Census shows the youngest child as Frank, 11 years old, born c. 1869. So it would appear his name was Frank Milton West, born in 1869, likely on March 4. It seems likely is birth date was remembered correctly but confusion about the birth year developed at some point."
