Elma E. West, a resident of Elma, died at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia on Saturday, October 30, 2004. She was 70. She was born March 27, 1934 in Shelley, ID to Charles and Melva (Fowers) Crofts.
She served in the United States Navy from May 20, 1952 to November 2, 1954 and was honorably discharged as a Dentalman. On October 8, 1954, she married Marvin West in Honolulu, Hawaii. The couple lived in Arlington, WA for 32 years. After leaving Arlington they lived in Montesano and Oregon before settling in Elma two years ago.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had been a longtime member of the Lady Lions in Arlington.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Marvin West of Elma; a daughter, Sheila Harden (Gene) of Kirkland; two sons, Neal West (Cindy) of Sammamish and Martin West (Kathy) of Montesano; two brothers, Kim Crofts (Maryanne) of Shelley, ID and Darrel Crofts of Idaho Falls, ID and seven grandchildren.
