Raymond L West was born Jan. 3, 1926, at Grandview, Wash. to William and Marie West. He passed away at his cabin in Little Canyon near Peck on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006.
Ray served his country in the U. S. Navy from 1943 into 1946 as a hospital corpsman, attaining rank of Hospital Apprentice First Class. He was also attached to units of the 1st Marine Division for several months during the invasion of Pelelen Island and spent 22 months in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Among other medals he was awarded, he was very proud of having received just recently, the "World War II Pacific Theater Award."--The Lewiston Tribune, Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006

Alma Dickinson Adams was born Nov. 9, 1917, at Connell, Wash., to William and Anna Marie West. She ascended into heaven Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, in Lewiston. She spent her childhood and teenage years at Peck.
Mom married Walt Dickinson at Orofino, Oct. 6, 1934. They moved to Pierce, where dad worked in the woods and operated the Mobil Service Station. Mom worked with dad at the service station for several years. After dad passed away, she worked at Durants Store in Pierce.
She moved to Lewiston in the mid-'60s and worked at the Owl Drug Store until she retired.
Mom married Dick Adams Dec. 24, 1981. They lived on 17th Street in Lewiston. They enjoyed the outdoors together, camping, fishing and hunting.
Mom also enjoyed sewing, gardening, birds, especially owls, and all of God's creations.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband, Walt; brothers, Walt West, Pat West, infant Raymond West and Raymond L. West; and sister, Orene Plank.
Mom is survived by her husband, Dick Adams of Lewiston; daughters, Lois Munds of Spokane, and Elaine Moscrip and husband Bill of Lewiston; and son, Ken Dickinson and wife Jenny of Lewiston. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Cheryl Schmautz, Karen Burgerson, Chris Wilson, Cindy Wilcoxson, Laura Lumley, Joe Moscrip, Kent Moscrip, Michael Moscrip, Bryon Dickinson and Scott Dickinson; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
