Lila West Baugh Zimbauer, 91, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, in Boise, from complications of pneumonia. She made her home in Orofino until March, when she moved to Boise to be closer to family living there.
Lila was born June 1, 1921, at her family's home on Central Ridge, outside of Peck. She was the oldest child of Nona Walker West and Harry H. West. She attended school in Peck and then in Orofino, where she graduated in 1939, beginning the family tradition of Orofino Maniacs.
She married Paul D. Baugh in August 1941. He died in a logging accident in August of 1952. Paul and Lila had three children; Judy, John and Lura.
On Feb. 22, 1958, she married Theodore Zimbauer. He died from Lou Gehrig's disease in September 1988.
Survivors include her brother, Robert E. West (Bob) of Orofino; her sister, Mary West Woolum of Kellogg, Idaho; daughters Judy (Jack) Coomer of Boise, and Lura (Lyle) Mullikin of Orofino; daughter-in-law Gloria Baugh of Orofino; four granddaughters, Cyndi Coomer-Smith (Dean) of Clinton, Utah, Angela (Mikel) Bishop of Boise, Michelle Officer of Boise and Summer Baugh of Moscow; and four grandsons, Paul Baugh of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Matthew Baugh of Deary, Mark Mullikin of Orofino, Derek Mullikin of Dennis Port, Mass., and Blain Graenig of Post Falls. She also has six great-grandsons, two great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and her son, John Baugh, who died in 2010.
