KANSAS CITY STAR Monday, August 31, 1903 Death of Patrolman Joseph C. West.
Patrolman Joseph C. West of the Sheffield police station died at 5 o'clock this morning at his home, 1103 Elmwood avenue, of yellow jaundice. Mr. West was known for years as "Chick." He was appointed a member of the police department December 13, 1899. A widow and three children survive. The funeral arrangements have not been made.
