Mary Buckwalter Willauer was born 29 July 1825, the daughter of a Quaker family, Hannah Grubb and Samuel Willauer of PA. Hannah Grubb was the daughter of Conrad Grubb who served as a private in the Chester Co., PA militia in the Revolutionary War.
Washington and Mary West married 20 Oct 1847 in Westpoint, Tennessee. They became the parents of seven known children: Carrie Thomas West, George Washington West, Solomon West, Warren West, Louise "Lou" West, Isaac West and Sammy W. West, who died in infancy.
They moved from TN to Lavaca Co.,TX and Washington West started a cattle business. Then, they settled in San Antonio where she died 20 Jan 1904.
