Funeral services for Allgara "Gair" West mother of Teddy, Marsha, Pam and Kelly, will be held on Saturday Dec 18 at noon in the Meadows LDS Church. A viewing will take place from 10-11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church.
Allgara May Poorman West was born May 25, 1922 in Auburn. She lived all her 88 years in Auburn.
She loved the "Dear Hearts and Gentle People" who lived in her hometown. She was educated through elementary school in Auburn and she graduated from Star Valley High School.
She married John "Jack" West in 1940 and they raised four children together. She was very active in the LDS church and in the community, were she held many positions and enjoyed being of service to others.
She became interested in teaching later in her life and obtained a Bachelors degree from Utah state University in 1968. She enjoyed a teaching career in the Lincoln County School District No 2 where she taught Speech and English at Star Valley High School. She finished her teaching career in the spring of 1987 and served an LDS mission with her husband in Papua, New Guinea.
In 1990 she and Jack celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary surrounded by family and friends. Jack died in the fall of 1991.
She married William Burton Bagley in 1996 and they spent nine years together until his death in 2005.
Gari had a full life and was blessed with good health, had many interests and developed many talents throughout her life. She was an artist, a writer, a poet, a cowgirl, a seamstress, teacher, gardener, and a much loved wife, mother and grandmother. She left a lasting gift to the people of Auburn by compiling and publishing a history of the early settlers and people who shared her beloved Auburn. The book is titled, "The History of the Hub".
Gari died Dec 14, 2010 in the Star Valley Medical Center in Afton. She was laid to rest in Auburn Cemetery on Dec 18, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Wogerman and George Poorman, her brother Mondell Wogerman, her husbands Jack West and Burton Bagley and a grandson Brett Layle Nield.
She is survived by her children: Teddy and Layle Nield, Marsha and Brad Transtrum, Pam and Terry Titensor, Kelly and Amy West, 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, her brother Obed I Wogerman, half-sisters Nita Case and Della Harmon.

Dr. Mark C. West, 87, formerly of East Alton, passed away at 3 p.m. Friday, July 4, 2008, at Loma Linda University Medical Center, Loma Linda, Calif.
He was born March 21, 1921, in Afton, Wyo., to Dr. George Washington West and Alvina Flora Tueller.
He graduated from Afton High School in 1939 and from Washington University Dental School in 1952 after serving in the Army Air Force during World War II as an armament officer with the 439th Squadron 319th bomb group (Colonel Randy's Flying Circus) serving in Okinawa and later in Japan. "Doc" West was a dentist in East Alton from 1952 until he retired in 1986, garnering several awards for children's dentistry. He was a member of several organizations including the American Legion, a life member of the American Dental Society (state and local) and Delta Sigma Dental Fraternity.
He was married on May 4, 1944, to Rosa Cowell Rice, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his son, Mark Clemand West, and daughter-in-law, Dolores Morvice West, of Redlands; and two grandchildren, Victoria Anne West of Redlands and Mark Edward West of San Jose, Calif.

Max Tueller West, 77, died May 31, 2001 in the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, following complications from open heart surgery.
Max was born May 26, 1924 to George Washington West and Alvina Flora Tueller West. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Rose Annie Passey West and three daughters, Doralee, Maxine and Valery West McDonald. He was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters.
Max was a life long resident of Star Valley, residing in Grover. He was a man of many talents. He was a rancher, dairy farmer, welder, leather craftsman, wood craftsman. Scoutmaster and the greatest talker, which is what people will miss the most He was active in the LDS Church.
Max was a wonderful father to Val and Kim and Terri. In his later life he will be known best for the wonderful grandfather that he was to his 13 grandchildren.
He is survived by his son Kim West and daughter Terri Webb.
