Will Transcript - Will dated 5 Mar 1784:
In the name of god amen, be it remembered that I Elijah West of Sussex county in the Delaware state, being sick and infirm of body but of sound mind and memory, blessed be god, and calling to mind the uncertainty of life do this sixth day of march anno dommi one thousand seven hundred and eighty four, make publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my wife Mary West the use of the house and plantation whereon I now dwell for and during the term of six years, for to raise and school my two youngest children, viz. Sally and Eli West, on and when that term of time expired, I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid wife Mary West one third part of the house and plantation I now dwell on during her natural life in - of her dower (except she marries) and after marriage or death, I give the aforesaid land and plantation unto my two sons, Amos, and Henry West, to be equally divided between them their heirs and assigns forever. --my will further is that there should be no more land cleared on my plantation during the five years that my wife Mary West has the use of it. I also give and bequeath unto my wife Mary West, two cows, four head of sheep, my best-- and table, my best bed and furniture, one iron pot, my bible and my black silk handkerchief to her and her heirs and assigns forever
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my son Henry West the sum of ten pounds out of my estate, to be paid - in schooling of him, by my executrix hereafter named.
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my son Amos West, my best hat, my best -- coat, vest and britches and one striped jacket with sleaves to him and his heirs and assigns forever.
ITEM: I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sally West and Eli West, all the rest and residue of my estate real and personal (after my just debts are paid) to be equally divided between them their heirs and assigns forever. My will further is that my son Amos West should be bound to a trade immediately after my decease, and my other two sons Henry and Eli to be bound out to a trade as soon as they come to the age of fifteen years. My will and desire is that my son Henry West should be bound to a taylor.
ITEM: I do hereby nominate and appoint my wife Mary West my whole and sole executrix of this my last will and testament, revoking disannulling, and making void, all former wills, or..

Isaac West b1761 in Sussex is distantly related and could be the witness. Mary, Elijah senior's sister married a Godwin.

Elijah West, planter, Sussex Co., from Avery Morgan, Planter, Sussex Co., 8 Feb 1781. For L1500. Part of a tract called Marsh Point Inlarged on the east side of Black Water Creek and on the south side of Indian River it being all of that tract granted to Avery Morgan, deceased father to the present Avery Morgan, son, 20 March 1761, recourse to the patent. Begining at the mouth of Cockel Gutt issuing out of Black Water Creek on the south side of Indian River, Gutt dividing George and Thomas West deceased, pastures usually called Elder Branch; homegoing line of a tract of land called Wests Recovery. 13 Acres. Wit: Rhoad Shanklin, Jos Hall.

This is our Amos P. West father of 14 children. We do have more information on Amos P. and children and wonder if this is the family you are inquiring about when you ask about Elijah?
