Emma’s date of birth was 3 Jan 1836 and place was Chalk Level, Benton, Tennessee. The date the first Mormons entered Utah, Salt Lake Valley was on 22 Jul 1847, Brigham Young arrived on 24 Jul 1847, when Emma was just 11 years old. The town of Parowan, was settled, founded, on 31 Jan 1851, 10 days after Emma turned 13. According to Church records Emma, her parents, Samuel Walker and Margaret along with her siblings left Garden Grove, Decatur County, Iowa on 17 May 1851 and arrived in Salt Lake on 25 Sep 1851 as part of the Harry Walton/Garden Grove Company. So her birth could not have taken place in Parowan.
